Special siliconized polyester paint coatings, known as “cool coatings” used on steel buildings have superior reflective qualities that act as a thermal barrier to keep the insides of metal buildings up to 20% cooler, saving money and the environment through reduced energy costs throughout the life of the building.

Cool Metal Roofs
Commercial building construction is taking advantage of the “cool” properties of metal building roofs made of AZ55 Galvalume® steel for use on commercial steel buildings such as warehouses, industrial manufacturing plants, aircraft hangars, storage buildings, retail outlet stores, auto dealerships, strip malls and more. Galvalume® steel metal roofing used on steel buildings and metal building construction can be use to cover or re-roof conventional construction as well.
Galvalume® steel metal roofs reflect light and heat, keeping buildings and the surrounding environment cooler. Because metal roofs do not store heat and radiate it back at night as do conventional asphalt and shingled roofs they save energy in cooling costs. Galvalume metal roofs also perform well to save energy and the environment in cooler climates.
